MS doesn't define ME

The Biography of a Polymath

Dr. Patti Bevilacqua is a two-time bestselling author, TEDx speaker, and the visionary behind fearLESS with MS. As a passionate advocate for those living with multiple sclerosis, she has spent over two decades inspiring transformation, resilience, and hope.

Patti’s career began in 1989 as a high school physical education teacher, but her life took a dramatic turn in 1990 with an MS diagnosis. Forced to leave the career she loved after just 10 years, she struggled to redefine her purpose.

For 15 years, Patti wrestled with the belief that her identity was tied to her profession. But when she embraced change, a new chapter unfolded. She reinvented herself as a speaker, workshop facilitator, and storyteller, using her experiences to empower others.

With a Ph.D. in Teacher Development, Patti founded The Hidden Illness Collective, a vibrant Facebook community, and The Hidden Illness Advocate, a Substack newsletter. Her story has reached audiences through over 20 podcast interviews, including The Hero Within, Chronically Living, and disSolving fear.

Patti’s journey is a profound example of strength, resilience, and determination, showing that a diagnosis doesn’t dictate your future—it creates the opportunity for a new path ahead.
